Velvet Foundation for the Arts is an independent cultural organization dedicated to the preservation, research, and presentation of significant artworks across painting, sculpture, drawing, and mixed media. The Foundation’s mission is informed, in part, by a family lineage connected to the 19th-century Austrian painter and draughtsman Wilhelm August Rieder, whose portraits of composer Franz Schubert remain among the most enduring visual records of their era. This artistic heritage reinforces the Foundation’s commitment to thoughtful stewardship, rigorous documentation, and the long-term preservation of culturally important works.

VLAF supports exhibitions, archival projects, publications, and partnerships that highlight the artistic and historical value of the works in its care. Its activities encompass classical, modern, and contemporary art, including works by artists such as Chaim Gross, Cundo Bermúdez, and others represented through ongoing curatorial and research initiatives.

Through collaboration with museums, universities, curators, and scholars, the Foundation aims to expand public access to art, encourage research, and contribute to a deeper understanding of artistic traditions across generations.
