VLAF Mission

Velvet Foundation for the Arts is dedicated to preserving, studying, and presenting significant works of art across painting, sculpture, drawing, and mixed media. Guided by an inherited artistic lineage connected to the 19th-century Austrian painter and draughtsman Wilhelm August Rieder, the Foundation approaches its work with a deep respect for artistic tradition and cultural continuity.

VLAF seeks to support exhibitions, research, education, and collaborative projects that broaden public access to meaningful works of art. By maintaining well-documented collections and fostering partnerships with museums, universities, curators, and scholars, the Foundation aims to advance cultural understanding and contribute to the ongoing study of the artists and movements represented within its care.

Through thoughtful stewardship and future acquisitions, the Foundation is committed to nurturing an environment where art can be studied, appreciated, and shared with audiences for generations to come.
